Science Camps
Our interactive science events include Kids Science Camps that run during each half term and summer holidays throughout the year. Different science themes are run in different areas of West, Mid and North Wales. Our science camps are capped at 20 children per event.
SUITABLE FOR? Our science camps are the perfect science activities for 7-year-olds and for kids aged 5 -12 years.
START AND END TIME? Science camps typically run from 10am to 2pm.
COST? £36 per child for one 4 hour science camp (That equates to £9 an hour). If you would like to book in 5 or more children, please get in touch with us directly for a group booking discount.
WHAT DOES MY CHILD NEED TO BRING? They just need to bring along lunch, drinks and any snacks for the day. Where the weather permits, we will endeavour to run some activities outside in the fresh air and so a coat may be needed. We provide everything else!
After school clubs in Ceredigion
Our after-school clubs offer science activities for primary school students. These vary from 1 -2 hours a week, for a minimum of 4 weeks where children explore a different science theme each week through hands-on activities. Children will develop their skills running experiments and interpreting results through highly engaging, fun science activities. Please note: Currently after school clubs are only available for Ceredigion locations.
SUITABLE FOR? These sessions are suitable for children aged 6 - 12.
START AND END TIME? Varies, but sessions typically run from 3.45pm to 4.45pm when held at our base in AberInnovation,
COST? Varies as we have OPTION 1 and OPTION 2. But as an example costing for a 4 week course:
OPTION 1 = £60* per child (£7 per week for the classroom session and £8 per week for the laboratory session)
OPTION 2 = £28* per child (£7 per week for the classroom session (no laboratory based sessions included)).
*the whole course is required to be paid in full before the start date.
WHAT DOES MY CHILD NEED TO BRING? Your child does not need to bring anything along to the after school clubs, unless they may want a drink or snack during the hour session.
Birthday Parties
What better way for a budding scientist to celebrate their birthday than to have a science themed birthday party! You book the venue, then book a time and date with THE BIG SCIENCE PROJECT, and we will turn up with laboratory coats, goggles and equipment!
All you need to do is choose one of these themes for your child’s birthday party:
Slimetastic! - Children will get stuck in making their very own slime whilst learning the science behind it!
Catapult! - Children will design and build their own mini catapult and launch chocolates! How many can they get into the bucket?!
Rainbow Reactions! - Children will design have a go at running 3 experiments all around the theme of chemistry and colour!
COST? £120 for 1 hour up to 12 children (£8 for each extra child ) We operate within 15 miles of Aberystwyth, if you are further away then additional charges will apply.
OPTIONAL EXTRAS Home Science Kits - These are excellent science activities to do at home. We have designed 3 fantastic science kits: Brilliant Biology, Creative Chemistry, and Powerful Physics, all containing a fully interactive activity book, multiple science activities and experiments, and required laboratory equipment to conduct the activities. £8 per child.
Science Themed Enamel Pin Badges - Multiple science themed badges to choose from- £3.50 each
